Société Pétrolière Ltd (SP Ltd) is Rwanda’s leading energy company, delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions across the country and beyond.

With a strong presence in both traditional hydrocarbons and renewable energies, we are driving the transition to cleaner, more efficient energy systems. From our 62 petrol stations nationwide to bulk deliveries for commercial and industrial customers, SP ensures that communities, businesses, and industries have access to the energy they need, when they need it.

We are the largest LPG provider in Rwanda, helping households and businesses move towards cleaner cooking solutions while reducing CO₂ emissions. We also support the growth of electric mobility, offering battery swap stations for e-bikes and fast-charging points for electric cars at select service stations. 

Our state-of-the-art fuel storage depot holds over 68 million litres. In partnership with the Government of Rwanda, we are opening a 17,000 m³ LPG storage facility, the largest of its kind in the region.

Beyond Rwanda, SP operates in Tanzania and Kenya through wholly owned subsidiaries, extending our footprint in the Great Lakes region.
